Sakar Sar is situated in Chapursan valley of Gojal (Hunza). It lies on the border of Wakhan and Pakistan. Upto Sost we travel on the KKH. From Sost a jeep track will take us to village of Baba Gundi from where we start our trekking. 

There is a shrine of Baba Gundi saint in the village. According to the local legend a saint Baba Gundi came begging in the valley and received only some milk from an old woman. To punish the valley the Baba sent flood and mud slick destroying everything except the old woman. Pilgrims from all over northern Pakistan and Wakhan visit Baba Gundi's shrine.
