Climbing permits to scale a mountain are issued in all seasons by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism Pakistan in Islamabad. Certain official documents are required to seek permission for climbing peaks. Below 6000 meters peaks do not require liaison officer for expedition. Fees or royalties depend upon the altitude of the peak.

The village of Hushe is the last village where jeep road ends. It is 140km east of Skardu and the starting point for expeditions and trekking to various summer pastures and five glaciers.

This trek takes you close to unspoiled nature. Apart from visiting Gulmit riding on 4 wheel jeep to the top of the Gulmit valley, winding your way through this thickly alpine forests spot, you reach rajabel and onward to Gulmit tower BC.
