Trekking Zones and Permits
Trekking can be carried out at altitudes below 6,500 m, as regulated by Pakistan's Ministry of Tourism. Three trekking zones have been designated: Open Zone, Restricted Zone, and Closed Zone. Trekkers may explore the Open Zone without a permit, while trekking in the Restricted Zone requires a trekking permit from the Ministry of Tourism.

The ideal trekking season in Gilgit-Baltistan runs from May to September, when the gorgeous, lofty mountains display their full glamour. All three mountain ranges call travelers to experience views they have never seen before.
